The main theme for 2013 would have to be regional relocation from Bradbury, a suburb of the City of Campbelltown NSW to the Shire of Kempsey at West Kempsey in May.
Christmas of 2012 saw us celebrating with my cousin Malcolm & Ellen at Lidcombe and in the evening with Wendy & Kevin LeMaitre
At the start of the new year in January, we saw our discharge of mortgage from our financial provider.
We undergo repairs and installations to our home in Bradbury which help with a good return when we sold the house. New lighting with ceiling fans, 2 air-conditioning units installed run by solar power and the roof repairs. We a tree removed from the front, stump grinder and new lawns laid.
In March we began searching for regional property, we head to Mid North Coast to begin our search for within our financial affordability, Johns River, Kempsey and Taree. However we saw an ideal property in West Kempsey in the flood free region but the option to purchase was given to another purchaser. That left us still to find another property.
While back at Bradbury we underwent a declutter, check out on South Coast around Nowra and Southern Highland's villages
On the 23rd March, our home in Bradbury was sold within 3 hours of being place on the market as we were driving north.
At the beginning of April the Real Estate Agent in Kempsey rang us and advise that the house in West Kempsey was offered to us as the previous purchaser was declined finance. We conditional said yes that we were still interested but we need to have another look and so in mid April on the 19th we sign the contract after some verbal agreement with the sellers.
We also manage to attend John Williams concert at Campbelltown Catholic Club on 6th April.
May saw the home in Bradbury pack and delivery to our new home in West Kempsey with settlement occurring on the 7th May.
At the end of May on the 26, we attended a surprise 50th wedding anniversary of my cousin Harry & Jill Purvis at the home of their son Malcolm.
June was spent in setting up our new home with modification to taps, new main beds, clothes dryer, new kitchen fridge arrived and new curtains installed. Home phone & broadband installed. Home care commenced with domestic assistance fortnightly.
Our first Joan & Peter from Airds spent 2 weeks with us with plenty of touring the sites around Mid North Coast.
In June/July school holidays we had our godson Yvane (Nicole Piper's youngest son from Campbelltown) stayed with us. He was our second guest and various people accepted him as our grandson. He want to visit again in January 2014 during holidays.
Early part of July saw my cataracts were removed & refractive lens inserted at Northern Beaches Eye Surgery, Dee Why.
Our third guest was my brother Robert visit us in September our first social with Transport Association Retired Employees at Deep Sea Fishing Club, Coffs Harbour.
On the 6th October, our 27th wedding anniversary, we celebrated with Macleay Diner at Anchors Wharf Cafe, Urunga. Macleay Diner is a social group that we have connected with since June, which meets fortnightly for either Lunch or Dinner and have been a great way of meeting new people, also getting to know Mid North Coast eatery.
Late October, early November we were in Sydney with a very squash week of activities. We had our next guest Julie, a Canadian who is now married to Steve living in Campbelltown for 2 weeks.
A lot of time was spent on health management seeing Physiotherapist. Lymphoedema management commenced in June along with the Community Nurse attending for wet bandaging treatment of dermatitis. Maria Hydrotherapy commenced bi-weekly at the District Hospital in December.
As members of Campbelltown Uniting Church we made ourselves available as their representative to Parramatta Nepean Presbytery. This lead us to be involve with Sydney Alliance. Also as a result of our involvement in the Uniting Church we are also members of the UCA NSW & ACT Synod Faith & Unity Committee (attended on 13 Aug) and I am a Representative of Synod to NSW Ecumenical Council. Attended NSWEC AGM on the June 15 at St James Phillip St, Sydney.
Our worship on Sunday varied between Churches in Campbelltown, Campbelltown Uniting Church, St Peters Anglican and Macarthur Hillsong South West (Campbelltown). We found life very fruitful from a mixed of fellowship with an occasional cuppa at Bradbury with the Senior Pastor from Campbelltown City Baptist Church.
